Tree Ring Science Demonstration, Celebration of Science, Vine Middle Magnet School, 12/12/17, Gave a demonstration of Geo Tech Club Tree-Ring Activity (see below) and tree-ring science to 5thand 6thgrade students and parents at Vine Middle School.
Dendrochronology Workshop, Geo Tech Club, Vine Middle Magnet School After-School Program, Mondays, 10/23 and 11/6, 2017. Introduced 5thand 6thgrade students at Vine Middle School to tree-ring science through hands-on activities and presentations, including the development of an original research project to evaluate the influence of landscaping on the growth rates of trees. Assisted students in sampling and evaluating trees on the Vine Middle School Campus, developing hypotheses, and testing these using simple methods in tree-ring science.
